BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said Pakistan was “brought to its knees” within hours during Operation Sindoor, underscoring India’s military strength.
Speaking after inaugurating key transport projects, including Bengaluru’s long-awaited Namma Metro Yellow Line, Modi said, “The Indian Army penetrated several kilometres into Pakistan territory after crossing the border. The world has seen our capability to bring Pakistan to its knees in just a few hours.”
His remarks came a day after Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh announced that the Indian Air Force had downed six Pakistani aircraft—five fighters and one large aircraft—during the operation.
Hailing Bengaluru’s role, Modi credited the city’s youth and technology sector for vital contributions under the Make in India initiative. “Bengaluru has become the symbol of new India’s growth. It should not just compete with global cities, but lead them,” he said.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for Namma Metro Phase 3 and flagged off three Vande Bharat Express services—Bengaluru–Belagavi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katr
