Apple is reportedly working on an ambitious lineup of AI-powered products, including a tabletop robot reminiscent of Pixar’s WALL-E. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Cupertino tech giant plans to make this robot the centrepiece of its AI strategy, with a potential launch in 2027.
The robot is expected to feature an iPad-like display mounted on a movable arm capable of swiveling and tracking users around a room. It will support FaceTime calls and introduce a more advanced version of Siri — one that can join group conversations, recall past details, and interact in a more natural, human-like manner.
Apple is also exploring a redesigned Siri interface, possibly incorporating an animated Finder logo. Beyond the robot, the company is reportedly developing a smart speaker with a display, as well as AI-powered security cameras (codenamed J450) equipped with facial recognition, infrared sensors, and the ability to automate household functions like lighting or music based on who is present.
Central to these innovations will be “LLM Siri,” an entirely new, large language model-powered version of Apple’s voice assistant. Expected to debut in spring 2026, it will leverage Apple’s in-house Linwood technology alongside external solutions like Glenwood. Reports suggest Apple is currently testing Anthropic’s Claude AI model for integration.
These developments highlight Apple’s push to compete in the fast-growing AI and smart home market, with a blend of personal companion devices and deeply integrated, privacy-focused AI assistants.
