Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is officially engaged to his partner of eight years, Georgina Rodríguez. The Spanish model and social media influencer announced the news on Instagram, sharing a picture of a diamond ring with the caption: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

Ronaldo and Rodríguez made their relationship public in early 2017, appearing together for the first time at the FIFA Football Awards in Zurich. Since then, she has accompanied the five-time Ballon d’Or winner throughout his stints at Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and now Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

While Ronaldo has yet to post about the engagement, he recently made headlines for another major announcement — extending his contract with Al Nassr until 2027. The 39-year-old forward confirmed the deal on social media, writing: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.” The Saudi Pro League club followed with an official confirmation.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in late 2022 after leaving Manchester United, quickly becoming one of the league’s biggest stars. He has scored 93 goals in 105 appearances, helping bring international attention to Saudi football and inspiring a wave of global talent to join the league.

The contract renewal comes after weeks of speculation about his future. Ronaldo’s cryptic message after Al Nassr’s final match of the 2024–25 season — “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written.” — had fueled rumours of a possible move, especially after the club finished third and missed out on the Asian Champions League Elite.

There was also talk of him participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, following comments from FIFA president Gianni Infantino hinting at potential negotiations. However, Ronaldo shut down the rumours ahead of Portugal’s UEFA Nations League final against Spain, saying: “It’s almost decided that I will not take part in the FIFA Club World Cup, despite receiving many invitations and proposals.”

With both his professional and personal life making headlines, Ronaldo now looks set to continue his record-breaking career in Saudi Arabia — this time with a wedding on the horizon.
